Today's column by George Will is a fun read with a catchy journalistic angle -- "GM is a welfare state."
Yet I found this the most interesting part of Wills' column, and probably most overlooked by readers:
"But GM's stock price is down 45 percent since a year ago; its market capitalization is smaller than Harley Davidson's."
No, the fact the GM stock's price has plunged hasn't been overlooked at all. But does anyone really believe that Harley Davidson is worth MORE than General Motors? Would any private buyer pay more for HDI than GM?
