At the risk of sounding like a tease, I still haven't bought anything new. The hope was that there would be one, if not two, new purchases to write about by now.
Last week, this blog mentioned a couple of venture capital companies being looked at. One headquartered in the United States, the other abroad. They're still be reviewed. Both are about to release results any day now, and it seems smart to wait and review the new documents as well as read over the comments of their managements.
CG is also looking at what could be an interesting way to play a couple of Canadian energy companies at a discount, with some real estate thrown in for good measure, but more research needs to be done.
Lastly, there's a spin-off in the media industry coming up in the second quarter of 2005. If a buying opportunity arises out of that and I buy, you'll read it here. But that may be a ways off, if it ever happens.
