Roger Nusbaum posted a great recap of Jim Rogers' appearance on CNBC Asia Monday (Sunday evening US east coast time). Rogers was on several times over a 3 hour period, for several minutes each time. That allowed the time necessary to fully explore his thoughts and investment themes.
This reminds me of how disappointing much of the business/investing coverage is on US cable television. FOX News has never properly exploited its access to Jim Rogers. Or Ben Stein. It's depressing to see them on Neil Cavuto's weekend show and have to share time with the likes of professional wrestlers and political consultants. What a waste.
My dream would be for Neil Cavuto to host an intelligent weekly roundtable show with Jim Rogers and Ben Stein as permanent panelists, then rotate two additional guests from among folks like James Grant, Jim Glassman, and various money managers of the quality seen in the Barron's yearly roundtables.
I'm not holding my breath.
