The three day weekend here in the US gave me the chance to listen to two audio interviews.
The first, found at VInvesting, is with Bruce Berkowitz of the Fairholme Fund. Berkowitz doesn't talk about specific stock picks, other than his big stake in Berkshire Hathaway (and admiration of Warren Buffett). But he gives insight into how he and his team work, what he looks for in companies and their managements, and his attitude in running a money management outfit.
The second is Jim Puplava's Financial Sense Online interview with Louis-Vincent Gave of GaveKal in Hong Kong. I'm not overly familiar with Gave, but he seems an interesting guy -- and his bullish view of the US stood out last weekend. And really stands out in light recent action (and panic) in world markets. Gave says the US is an undervalued market with an undervalued currency. He also likes Asia. As you know, I'm not a top-down guy -- I like getting down in the weeds and picking stocks -- but it's interesting stuff.
