Killer review of Jim Grant's new book, Mr. Market Miscalculates: The Bubble Years and Beyond, in the pages of Forbes. Reviewer Michael M. Thomas is a former investment banker and current novelist, and confesses to being friends with Grant. But this is great stuff. And here's a key part:

Anyone can come along after the fact and elegantly explain why we are all in the soup, and quite a few have. But Grant was doing it at the time, continuously over the best part of 10 years since the first collateralized debt obligation opened its hideous maw, and his reports and analyses carry the energy and acuity that come from having been there and seen that.
